1st BioSIM Cycle of Conferences – Speaker: Dr. Pedro J. Silva

The BioSIM research group, based in the Biomedicine department of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, is pleased to invite the entire scientific community to participate in the 1st BioSIM Cycle of Conferences: Connecting Computer Simulations with Experimental Research.

The first conference will take place on September 9th at 11am, at the Library of the Experimental Biology Unit, Department of Biomedicine – 5th Floor, CIM – FMUP.

We are pleased to present as first speaker Dr. Pedro J. Silva, a BioSIM researcher and associate professor at Universidade Fernando Pessoa. The conference is entitled “Enlightenment”: An Experimentalist’s Progress and Mechanism of a Light-Dependent Enzyme

Biographic note:
Pedro J. Silva is an Associate Professor at Universidade Fernando Pessoa, where he lectures Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry. He has published 30 papers in ISI-indexed journals, with over 600 citations in the field. He became an Associate Editor at PeerJ in 2015, where he has since 2018 become responsible (as Section Editor) for the supervision of the editorial decisions of >60 editors in the fields of Biophysics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology.
