MSc Student

Filipe Rocha, graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Minho in 2022, and is currently developing his M.Sc. research project in Medicinal Chemistry at UMinho and BioSIM. Rochas’s project is entitled “Discovery of new molecules for the treatment of Machado-Joseph disease”.

The computational studies are being developed at BioSIM, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, under the supervision of Dr. Sérgio Sousa, while the syntheses are being done at the Chemistry Research Centre of the University of Minho, supervised by Prof. Fernanda Proença. Afterward, the synthesized molecules will be tested by the research group of the Prof. Patricia Maciel, at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute, Braga.
