Carla S. Silva Teixeira is a PhD student of the Chemistry (Theoretical Chemistry and Molecular Modeling) PhD program (Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Engineer of the University of Porto), following an M.Sc. and B.Sc in Biochemistry (U.Porto).
Her PhD project is being developed at BioSIM and involves the use of QM/MM methods to study the catalytic mechanism of multifunctional enzymes that are potential targets against tuberculosis. Moreover, she also studies the catalytic mechanism of a catalytic triad that is characteristic of some particular nitrilases.
