Sousa presented an oral communication entitled “Application of QM/MM Methods in Enzyme Bioengineering Efforts: Understanding PET Degrading Activity of PETases” at the XLVII International Congress of Theoretical Chemists of Latin Expression (Chitel2024) held on June 30 – July 5, 2024 in Namur, Belgium.
The Congress of Theoretical Chemists of Latin Expression (Chimistes Théoriciens d’Expression Latine), whose acronym is alternatively spelt CHITEL or QUITEL, is an annual and historic meeting dedicated to theoretical chemistry. The 2024 edition joined more than 100 researchers working on theoretical and computational chemistry, on its different valences, with participants mainly from latin speaking countries, particularly from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal.
