Sérgio F. Sousa presented talk at ISQBP President’s Meeting in Athens, Greece

Sérgio F. Sousa presented an oral communication entitled “Probing the Role Played by Different Amino Acid Residues in the Catalytic Mechanism of Plastic PET Degrading Enzymes by QM/MM Methods” at the ISQBP 2024  held on May 19-23, 2024 in Athens, Greece.

The International Society of Quantum Biology and Pharmacology (ISQBP) 2024 President’s Meeting took place at the Academy of Athens and the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA). Known for fostering high-level scientific discourse, the biennial meeting featured a small format designed to maximize interactions among participants. The program included poster sessions, a meeting banquet, and 5 days of sessions, offering a comprehensive view of the latest advancements in computational chemistry and biology. The event also provided young scientists with the opportunity to present their work and featured the presentation of the ISQBP Computational Biology award and the Gilda Loew Lectureship.

The conference aimed to extend the impact of computational methodologies in biology, chemistry, chemical biology, and pharmacology. The meeting brought together experts and young researchers to discuss state-of-the-art computational techniques in the historic capital of Greece, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and honoring significant scientific contributions in the field.
