BioSIM members Clara Cerqueira, Mariana Fernandes and Rafael Vieira presented their work on the 10th of May, 2024.
Clara Cerqueira presented an oral communication entitled “Creating a Comprehensive Database of Plastic Degrading Enzymes for Machine Learning-Enhanced Optimization“
Mariana Fernandes presented an oral communication entitled”Exploring Plastic-Degrading Enzymes Towards Optimized Bioremediation.”
Rafael Vieira presented a poster communication: “Developing a machine learning model for in-silico aptamer development.”
The communications presented by the three students highlighted the work that they have been developing as part of the MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (FCUP), under the supervision supervision of João Carneiro (CIIMAR), Sérgio Sousa (BioSIM), and Diogo Pratas (Univ Aveiro).
This event aims to introduce students into the field of science communication, promoting their involvement in R&D projects in the early stages of their academic career.
