Two Master’s students of BioSIM presented their work at the 20th Portugaliæ Genetica, Porto

Two BioSIM members, Clara Cerqueira and Mariana Fernandes, made poster’s presentations on the 20th edition of the Portugaliæ Genetica – Ancient and New, on 21th of March, 2024.

Mariana Fernandes: ‘Exploring the Evolution of PET-Degrading Enzymes: Insights from Sequence Alignment and Phylogenetic Analysis’ 

The communications presented highlighted the work that they have been developing as part of the MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (FCUP), under the supervision supervision of João Carneiro (CIIMAR), Sérgio Sousa (BioSIM), and Diogo Pratas (Univ Aveiro).

This event covers the theme DNA – Ancient and New, with the goal of covering topics such as: ancient DNA, mutation and evolution and population genetics.
