Fábio Martins presented talk at 3D BioTalks

Our PhD student Fábio Martins presented a talk entitled “Computer-Guided Development of Novel Drugs Against SARS-CoV-2: From Virtual Screening to the Patents” in November’s session of the 3D BioTalks, which took place online on November 9th.

In his talk, Fábio presented the work developed at BioSIM in the context of the COVID’s pandemic, starting from March 2020 with the Crowdfight4COVID initiative, with the network of interdisciplinary collaborations formed for drug development, covering the discovery of the first molecular hits from virtual screening to the submission of the first patents.

The 3D BioTalks are online sessions organized by the newly created 3D-Bioinfo Community of BioData.pt, in which researchers in the Computational Biology and Structural Biology areas share their scientific activity. These talks are normally scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month and are organized in the scope of BioData.pt, the Portuguese distributed infrastructure for biological data and the Portuguese ELIXIR node.
