Sérgio F. Sousa presented an invited lecture in the VirCo 2022 Meeting “Understanding genetics: a key to a Healthier GENEration” organized by the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (APEF) and by the Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students Association (CPSA) and that took place in 20 and 21st of May.
This meeting was a two-days event intended for pharmacy and biochemistry students and to students of related faculties, with the idea to convey to student’s new knowledge from the interdisciplinary fields related to genetics.
In his 45 minutes talk entitled “Therapy for Genetic Diseases: The Computer as a Tool to Address Genetic Variability”, Sérgio F. Sousa summed up the approaches currently in use in computational biochemistry to study this problem from a molecular perspective. This was illustrated with some examples based on recent works developed at BioSIM.
