Sérgio F. Sousa presented an invited lecture in the 2nd Workshop “From In Silico to Animal Models for the Study of Human Diseases” organized by the University of Aveiro (April 20th)
In the last decade, in silico approaches and animal models have been crucial tools in biomedical research. This second edition of the workshop addressed the importance and applicability of computational simulation and animal models to understand the molecular mechanisms associated with several diseases.
In his lecture entitled “Employing Biomolecular Simulations for a Molecular Understanding of Human Diseases”, Sérgio F. Sousa introduced some of the basic principles behind biomolecular simulations and presented several examples of application, based on recent works developed at BioSIM.
