Sérgio F. Sousa presented a talk at the First Webinar on Medicinal Chemistry FCUP “Designing Tomorrow’s Therapeutics”

Sérgio F. Sousa (BioSIM) was one of the lecturers on the “First Webinar on Medicinal Chemistry – Designing Tomorrow’s Therapeutics” organized by the Drug Discovery Research Group at FCUP, headed by Professor Fernanda Borges (https://drugdiscoveryup.pt). This first session took place on May 7^th 2021 and counted with around 70 participants. 

The First Webinar Series on Medicinal Chemistry aims to bring together researchers from academy and industry that will exchange and share their experiences on aspects of Drug Discovery and Development. Based on real-world experience and practical realities, attendees will travel step-by step along the typical path of the multidisciplinary nature of medicinal chemistry.In this webinar, Sérgio F. Sousa focused on Integrating Bioinformatics and Computational Chemistry in the search for Inhibitors of Bacterial Biofilm Formation. This was illustrated with some of the group’s recent works in the field. 

This series will continue with webinar sessions on May 14^th – The long road between target validation and drug development and on May 21^st – From bench to bedside: translational research.
