BioSIM Welcomes 3 New Ph.D. Students – FCT 2018 Call for Ph.D. Scholarships

Many Congratulations to our 3 New Ph.D. Students André Pina, Juliana Rocha and Tatiana Vieira who were awarded funding from FCT to pursue their studies at BioSIM for the next four years under the supervision of Dr. Sérgio Sousa and Dr. Nuno Cerqueira.

André Pina’s work will explore an innovative approach to fight tuberculosis and malaria by targeting the PLP synthase macromolecular complex.

Juliana Rocha’s research will be dedicated to the Development of New Biocatalysts for the Pharmaceutical Industry targeting the Parkinson Disease.

Tatiana Vieira’s thesis will focus on the Study of New Drugs Against Biofilm formation and development using computational and experimental methodologies.
